I don't want to waste money buying a RT3S, until I know that the encryption is breakable and that a firmware file encryption tool could be written, (like bin2sgl for the GD77 etc) I'm very interested in the UV-380 / RT3S, but I don't know if the encryption has been hacked, or whether the bootloader has the same bug, so that it can be read and the encryption cracked (like on the MD-380) IU2KIN + one other Ham is working on the MD-380 version If it doesn't have the same RF chip, then the port would be possible but take longer. In order of priority, if either 1 or 2 are a fail, then its not possible. Has the encryption been cracked so that firmware can be uploaded using the bootloader in the radio.ģ.

The MD-380 etc seem to use the C5000 which is probably almost identical to the C6000.Ģ. Does it use the same (or similar ) DMR chip (HR-C6000) as the GD-77 (which the DM-1801 and RD-5R do) The only thing that matters in terms of porting the OpenGD77 to any other radio, isġ. I don't know if this means that the encryption has not been cracked, or whether the firmware is so different from the MD-380 that the MD-380 patches don't work on the MD-380UV I had a look on the various MD-380 toolz sites and the RT3S does not seem to be supported. So this question is a duplicate.ĭo the MD-380 tools support either of those radios ? The Retevis RT3s is identical to the TYT MD-UV380, can use the same firmware and CPS.
